I just remembered that I made this huge list for an old friend who was about to move to Nashville for grad school in my notes app as a way to help her navigate the city. This was right before I moved out of Nashville and served as a great and unexpected way for me to reminisce on and memorialize some of my favorite Nashville spots in my mind. I lived in Nashville for 4 years and wasn't keen on spending money which resulted in not going out very much but I did stumble across some awesome places and learned about the rarity and value of free parking. Consider this my gift to you and a personal tour guide to the city that helped raise me throughout my college years.
Pardon the typos. This is a direct copy/paste from my notes app. Enjoy.

Literally do me a favor and walk around Belmont’s campus <3 it’s beautiful and right in between 12th south and 21st ave
Cornelia airport park is an abandoned airport that has awesome trails and I used to love to ripstick/roller skate there on the old tarmac. It sits in East Nash which is so awesome and cute and gay and fun
Centennial park is awesome to walk around and has big band nights saturday nights during the summer where there’s a band and dance lessons at 7pm and some food trucks. i love it
Radnor park, about a 3 mile or less loop, great for seeing wildlife and wanting peace
FREE PARKING
capitol building after 6pm (great for downtown, din, broadway, or seeing a show/concert if you’re willing to walk)
not free parking at all but for concert at ascend or bridgestone I park under music city center because it’s like $20 for 4-8hours i think and everyone in car spliting it equals cheap
21st ave, behind Jeni’s and hopdoddy there’s a garage and it looks like you have to pay but you can print out a ticket for free 1.5 hour parking (great when getting food anywhere on 21st)
2st ave, there’s also free parking at Belmont UMC when they don’t have services
12th south, free parking at servier park or down any side street tbh
public library downtown validates up to an hour and a half of free parking i think that's right
no free parking but idk if you’ve ever been to Broadway but its a million dollars for a beer. literally just sneak shooters in and take in bathroom lol
I hope that you enjoy Music City as much as I have <3
